Falcon Techimp PD Medium Voltage Monitoring Device - Techimp - Altanova group

The device is designed for online monitoring of partial discharges in medium voltage electrical equipment. This device implements all the latest developments in the field of PD measurement, including automatic assessment and operator notification. The system provides a cost-effective solution for medium voltage networks while using all the proven technologies used in monitoring high voltage equipment.

An online diagnostic and monitoring device for partial discharges produced by Techimp (Italy) is designed for monitoring and diagnosing the insulation condition of electrical equipment of a medium voltage substation. Areas of use:

- Cable lines 6 / 10 / 35 kV

- Switchgears 6 / 10 / 35 kV

- Ring highway blocks

- Engines

The device independently collects and automatically processes information (with trend assessment) from partial discharge sensors of two types: inductive type (high-frequency current transformers - HFCT) and capacitive type (TEV sensors). PD measurement allows timely assessment of the deterioration of equipment insulation, thus preventing equipment failure and reducing economic losses.

To evaluate the result obtained, the patented Techimp TF-Map technology is used, which is widely used in the field of high voltages. Unlike traditional PD evaluation methods, it allows you to divide the received signals into groups for more convenient analysis. The device automatically separates multiple PD signal sources even in the presence of strong interference.

The device is equipped with various systems for alerting operators in the event of a situation that was previously set as requiring operator notification. Various algorithms allow you to customize the warning system for different tasks and different types of equipment. The following protocols are used for data transmission: OPCUA - IEC 62541, IEC 61850, Modbus and DNP3.
