FRIDA-TD high-voltage VLF installation - BAUR

High-voltage installation for testing 6-10 kV cables with cross-linked polyethylene insulation with voltages up to 34 kV at an ultra-low frequency of 0.1 Hz and diagnostics by measuring the dielectric loss tangent.

The high-voltage portable VLF installation FRIDA-TD is intended for:

- testing cables with cross-linked polyethylene insulation 6/10 kV with alternating voltage with a frequency of 0.1 Hz

- diagnostics of cables by measuring the dielectric loss tangent

- testing of cables with oil-paper insulation with direct voltage up to 34 kV

- tests of cable sheaths with direct voltage up to 10 kV

- searching for damage to the cable sheath using the step voltage method together with a galvanometer.

The installation is easy to operate: portable and easy to connect. Tests can be carried out manually or fully automatically. The navigation menu on the built-in display is intuitive and fully Russified.

Diagnostics by measuring the dielectric loss tangent of cables allows you to quickly and reliably assess aging and deterioration of cable insulation. The installation contains testing methods in accordance with the latest foreign standards, allowing this diagnostic to be carried out automatically with the issuance of a clear and complete test report.

The installation can be used as a high voltage source when measuring partial discharges in a cable. It also becomes possible to use the MWT (Full Monitored Withstand Test) mode, which reduces cable testing time by simultaneously measuring loss tangent and/or partial discharges, thereby reducing the time stress on the cable with increased voltage.
