PD-TaD 62 Portable PD diagnostic system - BAUR
The portable system PD-TaD 62 in combination with high-voltage VLF (VLF) installations from BAUR is used for diagnosing 6-35 kV cable lines using the method of measuring and localizing partial discharges.The portable diagnostic system PD-TaD 62 in combination with high-voltage VLF systems from BAUR is intended for:
- diagnostics of cable lines by measuring and localizing partial discharges in cable insulation, couplings and end sleeves;
- diagnostics of cable lines by measuring partial discharges during high-voltage tests with alternating voltage with a frequency of 0.1 Hz (VLF)
- diagnostics of cable lines by simultaneous measurement of partial discharges and dielectric loss tangent;
- complex MWT test: 0.1 Hz alternating voltage testing (VLF) with simultaneous measurement of partial discharges and dielectric loss factor
Diagnostics by measuring the dielectric loss tangent of cables allows you to quickly and reliably assess aging and deterioration of cable insulation. The installation contains testing methods in accordance with the latest foreign standards, allowing this diagnostic to be carried out automatically with the issuance of a clear and complete test report.
Diagnostics of cable lines using the method of measuring and localizing partial discharges allows not only to assess the condition of the insulation, but also to directly find the location of the deterioration of the insulation.
The combination of the two methods described above makes it possible to detect hidden defects (for example, if there is water in the cable sleeve) and is the most reliable way to prevent damage to cable lines and maintain cable records for the purpose of planning repairs and replacements.
Using the MWT (Full Monitored Withstand Test) mode allows you to reduce cable testing time by simultaneously measuring loss tangent and/or partial discharges, thereby reducing the time stress on the cable with increased voltage. Also, comprehensive tests significantly reduce the time for testing and diagnosing a cable line when compared with individual tests using three methods.
