PU-90M Mobile burning unit - GC "Energoscan"

The PU-90M mobile burning unit burns and burns the insulation of cable lines in the process of searching for damage. Maximum afterburning current - 90A (110 A peak), maximum voltage 15 kV.

The PU-90M burning installation, manufactured by Energoscan LLC (Russia), is designed to reduce the transition resistance at the defect site through the thermal effect of the arc on the insulation and converting high-resistance damage to low-resistance damage, which allows the use of the pulse reflectometry (TDR) method for preliminary determination of the damage location low and medium voltage power cable lines (0.4-35 kV). The essence of the method is to destroy a junction with a resistance close to zero at the point where the phase conductor of a high-voltage cable is shorted to the shell/phase conductor of defective insulation of power cables.

Burning installations are also used to convert single-phase ground faults into phase-to-phase faults to use the induction method for precise (topographic) determination of the location of the fault.

Burning PU-90M is a mobile unit with rubberized wheels and a handle for easy transportation. Does the installation have a high voltage test insulated? cable (5m), with clamps for connecting to the power cable, working and protective grounding wire, power cable, space for attaching cables.

For the most effective burning and afterburning of damage, the installation has eight stages with the ability to smoothly adjust the current and voltage at each stage. The technical characteristics of the installation allow you to start burning at a voltage of up to 15 kV, and when working together with a high-voltage installation through a diode line, up to 30 kV.

And if necessary, the installation allows you to burn out damage with currents up to 90A (with peak values up to 110A). An important factor is the possibility of automated switching of stages without extinguishing the arc, which will not allow a number of complex damage to “float”. The PU-90 unit is also available in a 19” format for modular installation in electrical laboratories, upon request.
