SHIRLA Device for locating shell damage - BAUR
The universal SHIRLA system is designed for testing cables and cable sheaths, as well as searching for locations of cable damage, including single-phase ground faults. Voltage up to 10 kV. Built-in battery. Report output via USB 2.0 interfaceThe cable sheath testing device SHIRLA manufactured by BAUR (Austria) is designed for testing cables and sheaths of high, medium and low voltage cables, preliminary determination of damage locations, as well as for determining the exact location of damage to the sheaths. Voltage up to 10 kV. Built-in battery. Report output via USB 2.0 interface
The SHIRLA device allows the user to test low voltage cables and cable sheaths up to 10 kV. In this case, the following parameters are measured: current, voltage and resistance at the site of damage.
The SHIRLA installation detects both low-resistance and high-resistance cable faults. The search for the preliminary location of cable faults is based on the principle of a measuring bridge according to the Murray and Glaser method. The distance to the fault location is displayed in meters. Different cable sections can be taken into account. Using the built-in high voltage source (up to 10 kV), fault locations with very high resistance can be identified.
The SHIRLA system makes it possible to accurately determine the location of cable damage using the step voltage method. For this purpose, in addition to the device, a KMF 1 galvometer or a UL 30 universal receiver is required. To do this, a pulsed periodic voltage of up to a maximum of 10 kV is applied to the cable or cable sheath.
